Real Moms. Real Reviews. No Hype.
We're not professional editors. We're not doctors. We're three moms who got tired of reviews written by people who'd never pushed a stroller through an airport at 6 AM with a crying toddler.
Our Team
Rachel is a product manager at an outdoor gear company in Seattle. She has two kids (3-year-old Leo and 1-year-old Mia) and has flown with strollers across 12 countries. She weighs every stroller she tests on a kitchen scale and has opinions about wheel bearings.
Her reviews focus on real measured data: actual weight, actual fold time, actual durability. If you're a data-driven buyer, start with her articles.
Priya is a fashion blogger in Brooklyn with 80K Instagram followers. Her daughter Aanya is 2. She cares about how strollers look — and she's not apologetic about it. She photographs every stroller in three different lighting conditions to test color accuracy.
Her reviews focus on aesthetic quality: real leather vs. leatherette, color accuracy in daylight, and how strollers hold up over years of daily use. If you want a stroller you'll love looking at, start with her articles.
Jenna is a project manager in Austin and a twin mom. Her twins Ella and Owen are 3. She's pushed every twin stroller we recommend through narrow doors, up hills, and onto planes. Her reviews are grounded in the specific logistics of getting two kids from point A to point B.
Her reviews focus on the practical: does it fit through your front door? Does it fit in your trunk? Can you fold it while holding a toddler's hand? If you have twins or multiple young kids, start with her articles.
Crystal is the editor and operations lead. She spent twenty years in Silicon Valley — first as an early Google employee building AdWords, then at Amazon running the Associates platform, then as CTO of a SaaS affiliate startup.
She doesn't write articles. She audits every article before publication for accuracy, quality, and honesty. She also handles the technical side — publishing, SEO, link management, site operations.
Our Editorial Philosophy
We started Our Smart Baby because we were tired of two things:
- Reviews written by people who'd never used the products. Too many parenting sites are written by editors who test a stroller for an afternoon and publish a review. That's not testing. That's typing.
- Reviews written by people who pretend there's no such thing as a personal preference. We don't all want the same thing. A tall mom has different needs than a short mom. A frequent flyer has different needs than a suburban parent. We don't pretend there's one "best" answer.
Our approach:
- We use everything we recommend. Not for a week — for months, or years.
- We measure everything. Weight, fold dimensions, fold time, wheel bearing quality — we publish the numbers.
- We say who each stroller is right for. Every review ends with a clear verdict. And every review includes a "Who Should NOT Buy This" section.
- We update regularly. Every review is checked quarterly. When prices change or products get updated, we note it.
How We Make Money
We earn commissions when you buy through our links — primarily through Amazon Associates. This doesn't change our recommendations. If a stroller isn't good enough, we say so, and we don't link to it. Our Manifesto has the full disclosure.
Our Testing Methodology
Every stroller we review goes through a standardized testing process: at least 6 weeks of daily use, measured weight and dimensions, stress tests on fold mechanisms and brakes, and 3-year tracking for the strollers in our long-term test. Read the complete scoring methodology.
The Tammi Reynolds Archive
Our Smart Baby had a previous life, from 2004 to 2018. One of its early contributors was Tammi Reynolds, a writer who published over 200 articles on parenting and early childhood development. We preserve her legacy on our contributor archive page.
