Stroller Maintenance & Repair Guides
A stroller that's maintained properly lasts 3-5 years. A stroller that isn't lasts 1. This is where we share everything we've learned from keeping our own strollers running through rain, snow, beach sand, and airport baggage handlers. No special tools required โ everything can be done at home with things you already own.
How to Judge Stroller Maintenance Advice
Good maintenance advice has three traits: specific products (not "a gentle cleaner" but "a drop of Dawn dish soap in warm water"), specific timeframes (not "regularly" but "every 3 months or after beach trips"), and warning signs ("if you see X, do Y immediately before it becomes Z"). If advice is vague, it's not advice.

Quick Recommendation
If your stroller's wheels are squeaking, don't buy a new stroller. A $4 tube of silicone lubricant and 10 minutes of work will add 2 years to its life. Start with our wheel maintenance guide.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I clean my stroller?
Wipe down after every outdoor use. Deep clean every 3 months, or after any trip to the beach or park. If you have a toddler, add a deep clean after every "spilled something sticky" incident โ that's usually every 2-4 weeks.
Can I machine wash stroller fabric?
Depends on the brand. Most manufacturers say "spot clean only." Some (like UPPAbaby) allow machine washing on cold, gentle cycle, but never the dryer. Check the tag on your specific stroller first.
My stroller wheel is squeaking. What do I do?
First try silicone lubricant (not WD-40). Apply to the wheel axle, spin for 30 seconds, wipe off excess. If it still squeaks after 24 hours, you may need to replace the wheel bearing. See our wheel repair guide โ
