Most stroller reviews assume a 5'6" parent with average needs. We don't. This is where we test strollers for tall parents (6'0"+), short moms (5'2"-), plus-size parents, grandparents with back pain, and two-kid families. The right stroller for one parent can be painful for another.

How to Judge a Stroller for Your Body

Three things: handlebar height (measure your natural push position โ€” if the handlebar is 3" lower, your back will hurt after 20 minutes), stride clearance (if your feet hit the rear axle, you'll hate it), and weight distribution (a stroller balanced for a 5'6" person will feel awkward for a 6'2" person). Test in person if you can.

Quick Recommendation

If you're over 5'10" or under 5'4", handlebar height matters more than any other spec. A stroller that doesn't fit your body will hurt every day. Test it before you buy.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the best stroller for tall parents?

Look for adjustable handlebars and stride clearance. UPPAbaby Vista and Bugaboo Fox are both good for tall parents (handlebar adjusts to 42"). See our tall parent picks โ†’

Are strollers too tall for short moms?

Some are. If the handlebar is fixed at 40"+ and you're 5'2", you'll be reaching up all day. Look for strollers with adjustable handlebars that go down to at least 36".

Do plus-size parents need special strollers?

Not special, but wider handlebars with more space between them help. Also check the stroller's weight limit on the handlebar if you're leaning on it for support.
